Occupational Therapy
A full programme of activities is take place on a daily basis, these include but not limited to weekly DVD nights, health & fitness and beauty care. Occupational Aids and Games are utilised to facilitate this programme. Card games are a popular event with the inclusion of visitors welcome.
Bridge players are facilitated in the parlour and encouraged to invite their playing partners into the weekly game, refreshments are served during the game.
Entertainment is provided on a regular basis, this includes music by visiting musicians and entertainers, use of our keyboard and karaoke machine are available to all. Outings to theatre and places of interest are arranged as appropriate. Maypark House has a small library which is augmented from the local Library in the Ardkeen Shopping Centre. Books in large print and books on cassette tape or CD are also available. We stock a small collection of DVD’s and will gladly play any favourites a resident may have or request to be played.
Daily and weekly newspapers are provided for residents and particular magazines and periodicals can be ordered on request. A small shop is operated on Saturdays for the sale of toiletries, sweets, stationary and the like, orders can be made for items on usually stocked. A hairdressing service is available on a weekly basis or on-request. Residents may also avail of our facilities for their own hairdresser. The Chiropodist also runs a weekly clinic in Maypark House. While there is an additional charge for these services they are provided at the same rate that Maypark House is charged.
